Metalloinvest iron ore output rises 1% to 10.3 mln tns in Jul–Sep
MOSCOW, Oct 29 (PRIME) -- The iron ore output of Russian metals holding Metalloinvest rose by 1% on the year to 10.283 million tonnes in July–September, the company said in a statement on Friday.
Production of pellets increased by 9.6% to 7.244 million tonnes and output of hot-briquetted iron and direct-reduced iron rose by 9.1% to 1.789 million tonnes.
Steel output fell by 2.9% to 1.163 million tonnes, while cast iron output increased by 15.4% to 630,000 tonnes.
In January–September, the company’s production of iron ore went up by 1.1% to 30.7 million tonnes and of pellets rose by 3% to 21.392 million tonnes, while the output of hot-briquetted iron and direct-reduced iron shrank by 1.3% to 5.687 million tonnes, of steel by 2.5% to 3.647 million tonnes, and of cast iron by 0.9% to 1.794 million tonnes.
Sales of iron ore products went down by 2.5% on the year to 20.4 million tonnes in the period, including iron ore sales that fell by 3.9% to 5.543 million tonnes and the sales of pellets that shrank by 1.7% to 11.468 million tonnes. The sales of hot-briquetted iron and direct-reduced fell iron by 4% to 3.138 million tonnes. The sales of steel products contracted by 6.6% to 3.312 million tonnes, while cast iron sales rose by 7.6% to 989,000 tonnes.
